GRAPES
50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah
TERROIR
The grapes come from our plots located north of the Saint Antonin lieu-dit, at the southernmost and highest point of the appellation. These plots are characterized by clay and silt soils resting on marl and consist of vines averaging 50 years old.
WINEMAKING
Hand-harvested with sorting in the vineyard.
90% destemming followed by 25-day maceration.
The wines are aged in foudres for the Grenaches and in barriques for the Syrahs and Mourvèdres for 12 months before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
The Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu reveals a deeper ruby color along with notes of ripe black raspberry, black cherry, melted licorice, and burnt earth. It is rich, powerful, and concentrated, with great depth, which is the hallmark of this appellation.
FOOD AND WINE PAIRINGS
This vintage will perfectly complement game meat in sauce or grilled.
Best enjoyed within 10 years of bottling.
