In the vineyard, the richness of the terroirs
Terroir of a great vintage
On the sandy soils of La Crau Est and La Font du Loup, we have selected two plots in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
Previously used by Domaine de la Janasse, these plots now allow us to produce the Châteauneuf-du-Pape de St Antonin cuvée. A 100% Grenache Noir cuvée, the king of grape varieties in the appellation.
Three emblematic grape varieties
Gathered together around the St Antonin farmhouse, the plots of this enclosure are mainly composed of sandstone and silt soils.
It is from these sandstone and silt soils that our red wines under the Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu and Côtes du Rhône appellations originate. These wines are made from the three flagship and complementary grape varieties of the region: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
Between tradition and innovation
South of the locality of St Antonin, there are plots with sandier soil.
It is from these cooler soils that we produce the only white wine of St Antonin. Our IGP cuvée from the Principality of Orange is a blend of Clairette, a historic grape variety of the region, and Chardonnay, a grape variety less common in the Vaucluse.
